REGISTRATION: Registration is going on now at Church Road field for the fall 2009 season. You can download a registration form from the South Bowie Boys and Girls Club website.
SEASON DURATION: The football cheerleading season runs from mid-August to early November. The basketball cheerleading runs from December to March.
PRACTICE:
Begins Friday: December 4th.
Location: Tulip Grove Elementary
Time: 6:15-7:45pm
Weekdays: Monday & Friday
Times and days may changes once in a while, depending on the coaches schedule. The practice location will also change once the weather gets cooler. All cheerleaders are expected to attend all of the practices to stay in sync with their teammates.
GAMES: Basketball & Footaball games are normally held on Saturdays. We cheer at all home games only. Once playoff season starts, we will travel. We cheer for the county, tackle, mighty might’s, and flag program.
UNIFORMS: Uniforms will be distributed by SBBGC. They are to be used for the season and returned when the season is over. There is a small user fee associated with the uniform rental. Price is TBA. There will be a few extra items the girls may need to purchase, but I will let you know.
FUNDRAISING: This year we will be fundraising as a whole. All families are required to participate during the season.
COMPETITION: Prince Georges County Boys and Girls Club hold an annual cheerleading competition at the University of Maryland, College Park (Cole Field House) in November. Club participation is not a must, but is a great opportunity for the girls to showcase the skills they’ve learned all season long.
COACHES: We are always looking for head coaches, assistant coaches, and Jr. coaches. Although no experience is necessary, it is encouraged.
For more cheerleading information contact: Nicole Seward (Cheerleading Commissioner) @ cheerleading@sbbgc.org
